Dr. Wags visits with his friends waiting to be adopted

On August 25, MainStreet Family Urgent Care presented the third annual MainStreet Bark in The Park at Central Park in Sylacauga.  This yearly fundraiser gathers the Sylacauga community together to raise money for the Sylacauga Animal Shelter and The Feral Dogs of Avondale Mills.

The presenting sponsors for this year’s fundraiser were YEA 106.5, The Sylacauga News, Mutt Cuts,  Blue Bell Creameries, The Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, and Goo-Goo 3 Minute Express Wash.  Many other local businesses and foundations donated funds to contribute to the cause.  Over $3,000 was raised to donate to the shelter and the rescue.

The event brought in nearly 30 vendors and hundreds of excited residents of Sylacauga and surrounding areas.  Spectators had an opportunity to enter several raffles and win numerous prizes while listening to a live broadcast from YEA 106.5!  The highlight of the event was the doggie costume contest!

We can’t wait to start planning next year’s Bark in The Park! For more information about MainStreet Bark in The Park, please check out our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/mainstreetbarkinthepark/
