About Dr. Wags

Kathy DeCant, CRNP with Dr. Wags

Dr. Wags is MainStreet Family Care’s favorite canine companion and company mascot!

Meet Dr. Wags. Born in Dogtown, Alabama, he is the loving face of MainStreet Family Care. We found him as a young pup with a talent for making kids smile! We took him into our Family and raised him as our own. He travels throughout Alabama entertaining and educating our communities. He loves hanging out with the locals.

Dr. Wags spends time with young students at local schools. He brings his friends from MainStreet to teach students the importance of handwashing. He also brings a fun activity to show how germs can spread if we’re not careful. Using glow-in-the dark powder, he shows young students how high-fives and hand-shaking can spread germs. At the end of the presentation, he shows them how proper handwashing can help us get rid of germs.

Local festivals and healthcare fairs are other places Dr. Wags enjoys hanging out. He loves being out in the community and sharing his message of wellness with others. If you have an event that you’d like him to attend, you can reach out to our team at info@mainstreetfamilycare.com.

Dr. Wags completed undergraduate degrees at both The University of Alabama and Auburn University. After supporting himself to achieve his dream of being the first dog to graduate from medical school, he dedicated himself to helping others in smaller towns similar to where he came from. Dr. Wags wants to ensure no one is without convenient, friendly and fast healthcare ever again!
