MainStreet Family Urgent Care was a proud to be a sponsor for the 5th Annual Get Fit Selma! This was our second year being a sponsor and we are proud to be apart of such a great event each year in our Selma community. Get Fit Selma is an annual Heath & Fitness Festival which all residents of Dallas County and surrounding areas are invited to! This year’s main focus was Diabetes, both Types I and II, in particular the children and how it makes all of us vulnerable to other diseases. Studies show that Selma youth are being diagnosed as early as 14 years old with Type II diabetes. Each year there’s a 5K run/walk with a awesome cash prize!

After the 5K run, starts the festival. The gym at Wallace Community College is full inside and out with business’s from our community sharing information on health and wellness. Each table featured games, giveaways, healthy snacks, water, and much more. During this time guest were offered free health screenings! MainStreet took part and offered free blood pressure checks at our table!

We had a wonderful time getting to education, entertain, and meet new members of our community! This is a great event put on each year by McRae-Gaines Learning Center! Look for MainStreet Family Urgent Care at the 6th Annual Get Fit Selma in 2018!
