How does the COVID-19 Antibody Blood test work?

We will draw a sample of your blood and test it for the antibodies your body creates when fighting COVID-19. Results are return in 2 to 3 days.

What does the COVID-19 antibody test tell me?

The COVID-19 antibody test will tell you if you have had COVID-19. It will not tell you if currently have it. It will not tell if you are over it. We do offer the a COVID-19 virus infection test that will tell you if you currently have a COVID-19 virus infection .

If I have had COVID-19 and are over the infection, does that mean I can't get Coronavirus again? Is this a test for immunity?

We don’t know for sure. However, current indications are that once you have had the infection and you are over that infection, you will be immune for some length of time. How long you would be immune is not currently known. And it is not certain that you would be immune.

So, how do I know if I currently have Coronavirus or if I am over it?

A different test, the COVID19 virus infection test that you've been hearing about on the news, is needed to tell you if you currently have it. We will offer this test to you as well.

What is the difference between the COVID-19 blood antibody test and the COVID-19 virus infection test?

The COVID blood antibody test tells you if you have HAD COVID.The COVID virus infection test tells you if you have a COVID virus infection currently. The COVID-19 antibody test uses a small amount of blood we draw from your arm. The anitbody test is used to test for your body’s immune response to the virus.

What is the cost for the COVID-19 antibody blood test that tells me if I had Coronavirus?

Similar to a regular visit, you will walk-in the clinic, submit your insurance information, and pay your copay. You will be evaluated by the provider just like any normal visit. It is uncertain if this test will be covered by insurance. We expect that it will be covered, but we are not certain.

How soon can I get the results of my COVID-19 antibody blood test?

The test is blood draw and test results are available in 2 to 3 days.

Getting the COVID-19 Vaccine in Georgia

Will you be getting the COVID-19 vaccine in Georgia? Below is information on the current phase of the vaccine distribution in Georgia.

Who can get a COVID-19 vaccine at this time?

We are now in PHASE 3 of the vaccine distribution. That is to say, you can get a COVID-19 vaccination at MainStreet if you are 18 or older and have not had COVID-19 in the last 90 days. While state eligibility does extend to those who are 16 and older, the vaccines offered at MainStreet (Moderna) are only authorized for those 18 and older.

How do I get the COVID-19 vaccination if I meet the criteria?

Register online at a MainStreet clinic to get your Covid-19 vaccination that day. Please register online first to make sure there is space available. You can register online at any of our clinics here. Registration opens each day 30 minutes before the clinic opens. After beginning your online registration, please select Initial COVID Vaccination as the reason for your visit.

If the clinic you are seeking to obtain your vaccination has reached its limit of the day you will be provided a link that will list any of our other clinics that still have available vaccination spots that day. If no clinics still have vaccination availability, or you need to go to that clinic, please try again the next day, right at 30 minutes before the clinic opens.

Can I make an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccination if I meet the criteria?

We do not accept appointments, but we do have same-day online registration which opens 30 minutes prior to the clinic opening. In order to help you the best we can, please note the tips listed below to help you plan for your vaccination visit.

What if I don’t yet meet any of the criteria, but I want a vaccination?

All adults are eligible for the vaccine, but you can text the word MAINSTREET to (866) 824-0638 for more help.

What vaccination do we offer?

MainStreet and KidsStreet currently offer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccination. This COVID-19 vaccination requires two doses. In other words, you will need to return to the clinic at a later date to receive a second dose.

How much does the COVID-19 vaccine cost?

The government pays for the vaccination itself. The administration of the vaccination, office visit, and supplies are billed to your insurance company. Subsequently, this may require you to pay some or all of that portion of the treatment. However, if you are uninsured, you may qualify for the uninsured insurance program and that program covers all costs.

Can I get the vaccine if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

The COVID-19 vaccine is available to pregnant or breastfeeding mothers who meet the above criteria. However, the vaccine has not been tested in pregnant women so there is no safety data pertaining to use in pregnancy. Can I bring my family members with me? Are they eligible?
