Dr. Wags Goes to Talladega Parks

Share

One of Dr. Wags’ favorite things to do is enjoy the outdoors at Talladega parks! The weather is changing along with the leaves. The days are getting shorter and the breeze is getting cooler. Fall is coming. What better way to enjoy the changing of seasons than by getting outdoors!

Dr. Wags just had to get out last week and enjoy the beautiful weather at Jemison Park in Talladega. He had so much fun sliding down the slides and swinging on the wonderful swings.  It’s time to ditch the devices and screens and head outdoors!

Talladega Parks

There are many parks in and around town that are open to the public:

  • Veterans Park
  • Amanda Bingham Park
  • Jemison Park
  • Harmon Park
  • Pope Hill Park
  • Edith Sims Park
  • McMillan Park
  • Westgate Park
  • Duncan Pinkston Park

Veterans Park and Jemison Park are the 2 most popular from what we have seen. They have playground equipment for all ages and abilities, as well as, pavilions with picnic tables in close proximity for parents to sit at while their children play.

Don’t forget about the Ben Bruner Sports Complex. Always check with the Parks and Recreation Department about signing your children up for organized sports. This is a great way to keep them active and involved all year long.
