We had an amazing August this month at MainStreet Family Urgent Care in Eufaula! August brought lots of last-minute summer fun and a perfect start to back-to-school adventures that will continue throughout the year! We loved every minute that this month had to offer, and we are recapping it all for you in this article, just in case you’ve missed it!
This August, Dr. Wags was excited to kick off the “Back to School Supply Drive” for the schools in Eufaula. Citizens were encouraged to drop off much-needed cleaning supplies for the local schools to help teachers keep their classrooms germ-free. Dr. Wags loves going back to school so much that he even stuffed a backpack FULL with back-to-school goodies for a special child to win for the “Back to School Backpack Giveaway” that took place on August 8th!

On August 10th, Dr. Wags enjoyed a moving performance by the Crowne Health Care Choir! They sang beautiful and soulful gospel songs that touched the hearts of all the people who attended. Dr. Wags gave them each a rose for singing so beautifully during their performance and can’t wait to hear them sing again!

Dr. Wags, knowing how very hot the “dog days of summer” can be, was thrilled to deliver summer treats to Southern Souls Animals League for the dogs to enjoy! We donated new two water hoses, two sprinklers for the pups to jump in, lots of frozen treats to eat, and six new doggie pools for the dogs to splash around in! Dr. Wags loves helping his fellow canine friends!

Lastly, Dr. Wags was happy to end the month of August by treating the teachers of the Eufaula Elementary School to a delicious breakfast to show our appreciation for their dedication to teaching some of our most precious little citizens in Eufaula on August 31st! We served sausage and cheese skewers, boiled eggs, Donut King doughnut holes, fruit, juices, and coffee for the wonderful staff of 64 at the Elementary School. We held a drawing for a basket stuffed full of classroom essentials for one lucky teacher, but we also gave each staff member a goodie bag filled with pens, Ticonderoga pencils, and mints so that they could all have a little something to take back to their classrooms, too! We love the teachers in Eufaula because we know how vital teachers are to creating well-rounded adults in our community!

August was a great and eventful month, and we had a great time, but we can’t WAIT to see what September brings! Whatever fun events are happening in Eufaula, MainStreet Family Urgent Care is sure to be a part of them with our faithful mascot, Dr. Wags!
